We all look at the same moon,

Irrespective of the phase,

That's what they say,

But is that true?

Is the moon the same for everyone?

For the one looking at it from the penthouse,

And for the one trying to reach it from the

slums?

For that middle class moon loving poet forced to

study science,

And for that moon admiring artist who is the

privileged's son?

For that independent working girl trembling

because she is being followed at night,

And for that reckless boy wandering in

moonlight just for fun?

For that husband whose life is being prolonged

because of his wife's one sided sacrificial love,

And for those duty bound women fasting and

waiting for the setting of the sun?

Amidst this unbiased black night,

With no moon in sight,

I wonder,

Is the moon the same for you and me?
