The Wizard Of Oz

The obnoxious sound of chomping filled Dorothy's ears. She seemed unbothered, looking down adoringly at Toto.

"What have you got there, Toto? Is that a stick? A leaf?" she said sweetly, petting him. Toto opened his mouth to pant, and out dropped Dorothy's beloved silver shoes, torn in half.

"Uh oh... That doesn't look right," trembled the cowardly lion.

"ARE THOSE THE SILVER SHOES!" exclaimed the tin woodman.

"We are doomed." stated the scarecrow.

All of a sudden, the yellow brick path faded away, and the silver shoes began to glow, with a blinding luminosity. The sheer intensity of it was enough to blind someone, and so they turned their head.

The glowing faded, and now, it was pitch dark. Dorothy reached out to hold the scarecrow's hand, or even the tin woodman's, but it was void, she reached nothing, her fingers grasping on air.

"Is anybody there... Scarecrow? Tinman? Lion? Toto? Is anybody there...?" she shudders, her voice cracking in fear.

"No. But I am." said a deep voice behind Dorothy, "But you must not turn around. If you look at me, you shall never return to Kansas."

Dorothy, apparently, was very poor at following instructions. She turned around, nevertheless, to see an old man, somewhat visible in the darkness. "You look like my grandfather, except you have more wrinkles than he does," she blurted out.

He sighed, annoyed, "I am the infamous wizard of Oz. And I stand here to welcome you... to all that remains of Oz. You and Toto have shattered the reality, our reality. And therefore, you shall remain here, with me, until the end of time. For we have nowhere else to go."
