She wrote the disappearance.

He became the ending.
He became the ending.

What if the perfect revenge was not being believed, but making the lie become true?

What if Amy's carefully constructed disappearance was never meant to end with her return, but with Nick becoming the murderer she had always made him look like?

In Gone Girl, Amy Dunne doesn't just disappear. She creates a full-fledged script for her own murder, one where no one even realises that they are playing a role.

But what if Amy takes her revenge plan a step further? What if she doesn't just want Nick to be exposed, hurt, or ruined? What if she wants to destroy his own reality?

She wants more than revenge. So, for the final stage of her disappearance, instead of reconciliation, she provokes him until he snaps and becomes the perfect villain: the one who murdered his own pregnant wife.

In this alternate universe, the disappearance she fabricated isn't supposed to be a lie, but a reality that Nick creates.

And Amy isn't planning to come back to him.

No second chances. No strange return to married life.

Amy doesn't want their twisted happily ever after.

She doesn't want Nick to simply look guilty.

She wants him to actually become guilty.

She creates a trap. When Nick manages to find her, she pushes him closer to the edge. Being his wife, she knows exactly which wounds to press to make him snap.

And she succeeds.

Nick becomes the murderer everyone was already suspecting him to be.

And all the evidence would be there, intricately fabricated by her, making the entire story of Nick being an abusive husband who murders his wife believable.

Amy doesn't need to be alive to enjoy his destruction.

She made sure that even her death belongs to him.

Nick wouldn't just spend his entire life labelled as a monster by society, but would also have to live with the guilt of knowing that he actually did kill her.

Except for one thing:

Amy planned her own murder.

Nick was just playing his role in her twisted script.

She didn't just write her own ending. She wrote his too.
