Human

Why can't we give back

To those from whom we learn ??

Love, to the ones who raised us,

Our parents, steady like roots,

Yet our love never quite measures

Their silent sacrifices,Their sleepless nights..

Respect, to teachers who guide us,

Their wisdom shaping our minds,

But our thanks fall short,

A shadow to their patient light..

Loyalty, to friends who hold us,

Through storms and stillness,

Yet we fumble,

In the depth of their trust,

Never quite reaching their unwavering hand..

Kindness,To strangers who smile,

Or help us when we don’t expect,

But we forget to pay it forward,

Even when they’ve planted seeds of warmth..

And forgiveness,

To those who have forgiven us first !!

A friend after an argument,

A sibling after careless words,

But it’s hard to match the grace

Of a heart opened wide again.

We learn, we grow, we take,

But giving back ??

It seems an endless chase,

Like catching wind in cupped hands..

Perhaps, we are meant

To keep trying,

For in the trying,

We find the beauty of what it means

To be human !!
