Dear Judy,
In the sea of fictional characters, I often find myself thinking about you. You seem to pull at something within me, your thoughts pressing a little deeper than expected. I often wonder what it would have been like if your story had taken a different path- if you weren’t just seen as damaged, but as something more, if you had been surrounded by love instead of loss, if you felt less alone. Sometimes, it’s hard not to imagine you as someone real- someone I could sit with, someone whose hand I could hold, just to remind you that you don’t have to be alone.
Thinking about you leaves a quiet heaviness, mixed with a strange sense of hope. You weren’t just a man, you were someone who kept going, even when everything felt wrong. You held onto people and tried to see the good in them, even when it wasn’t returned. There was courage in that, even if it didn’t always feel like it. In a quiet way, you became a kind of light when things felt dark. You may have faced the harshness of the world, but there was still kindness in you. You stayed in the background, almost as if that’s where you felt most at ease. You are one of the most deeply written, broken characters I’ve come across.
I often imagine reaching out, standing at a distance, hoping you might let someone in. You may feel like you don’t belong, but to me, you do. You make it easy to care about you- not because you are weak or a burden, but because you keep searching for something better. You hold onto hope, you try, and that matters. Your scars tell a story of endurance, and even when held back, you still move forward in your own way. You are someone shaped by an unjust world, yet still trying- and that is how I will remember you.
