A Letter to Inej Ghafa

By Arushi Bharadwaj, B.A. Programme (English + Psychology)

Design by Nandana

Dear Inej,
As a reader who has followed your journey from the bustling streets of Ketterdam to the highest peaks of the Wraith Step, I’ve been captivated by your strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Your story has touched me deeply, leaving an indelible mark on my heart.

Inej, you resonate with readers on a deep level. Your experiences of trauma, resilience, and redemption continue to captivate me. Your journey is one of self-discovery, empowerment, and the search for a place to call home.Your courage to defy societal expectations, to choose your own path, and to protect those you love, has inspired me in ways I cannot fully express. Your bond with Kaz Brekker is a testament to the power of human connection, a love story that transcends the boundaries of class, race, and even death.

I’ve often found myself reflecting on your experiences, pondering the challenges you’ve faced, and marveling at your ability to overcome them. Your character has become a beacon of hope for me, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always light to be found.

I hope you’re well, wherever you are. I hope you’re flying high, soaring through the skies, free as a bird. I hope you're finding peace and happiness.

With heartfelt admiration,
Arushi
